Manuscripts should be written double spaced on A4 sized typing paper with 1 cm right margin and 3 cm other margins. A single printed copy and an electronic copy on CD should be provided in case it is not technically possible to submit online.
Title page. This page should contain the following: Title in English and Turkish (*), type of the manuscript, names of institutions each author is affiliated with. Corresponding author’s full name, title, institution, telephone & fax number, and e-mail address. Title should clearly reflect the content of the manuscript and should not exceed 15 words.
Abstracts. The Turkish and English abstracts should consist of 180- 220 words and state the rationale, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions of the study (*). Abstract should not contain any abbreviations.
Keywords. After abstract, 3-8 keywords should be supplied in both languages (*). It is of prime importance that the keywords should be in accordance with MeSH. This keyword divergence may be reached through Pub Med’s main page.
Units and Abbreviations. Numerical data must be reported in SI units. For enzyme activity katal or International Unit can be used. For centrifugation, angular velocity (x g) must be given. Abstract should not contain any abbreviations and should be given in parenthesis following its first appearance in the text. All abbreviations should be in the internationally recognized format. For very well known abbreviations such as DNA or ATP, open form may not be given.
Tables. Tables should be typed on separate pages, and numbered consecutively with Arab numerals in order of appearence in the text. Each table should have a brief explanatory title on top. Footnotes may be inserted when necessary.
Figures. Figures are numbered with Arabic numerals in order of appearance in the text. The legends and their corresponding figure should be typed on the same sheet. The illustrations should be sharp enough to be processed with laser printer. Colored photographs are accepted for inclusion only in the electronic version of the journal.
References. References should be listed in numerical order at the end of the article according to the order of citation in the text. Abbreviate the names of the journals according to Index Medicus, which you can find at ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/pubmed/J_Entrez.txt. Only articles that have been published or are in press (please attach the letter of acceptance) should be included.
